A new image for the Swiss tech industry
If you type “industry” into a text message on a smartphone, the phone suggests a factory with a chimney as an emoji. However, industry in Switzerland has long since moved on from smoking chimneys and traditional mechanical, electrical and metal engineering (MEM). Hightech has arrived and this is precisely the image conveyed by the industry brand “tecindustry”.
tecindustry.ch – the information hub for an entire industry
The tech industry's main way to share info is through its website. Latest stories on climate and environmental protection international networking or innovation show what the tech industry is doing every day to tackle the challenges of our time. A comprehensive job section profiles people in the industry, presents job profiles and training opportunities and offers direct access to open job vacancies.
Eye-catching images and colors
The tech industry often communicates through technologically advanced representations, conveying high-tech with futuristic-looking images or showing machines. The visual identity developed by evoq deliberately focuses on people and combines them with eye-catching colors and simple, geometric shapes. This creates a contrast to the industry standard and attracts special attention. Playful word creations based on the syllable “tec” also create a unique form of communication that is multilingual and works in all language regions of Switzerland - as well as in English.
A brand positioning detached from the association
The newly created brand deliberately seeks to differentiate itself from Swissmem's association image and positioning. The association aims to represent the interests of companies in politics and the media. tecindustry, on the other hand, communicates the achievements of an entire industry to a broad public and presents future-oriented job options and training opportunities. In a first step, evoq is developing an independent brand positioning in a collaborative process with Swissmem. In addition to the vision and mission statements, values and clearly defined communication topics complement the positioning.
Internal branding for the launch, animated advertising formats for the public
Within the association, the brand was introduced with internal branding measures, FAQs and comprehensive language and design guidelines. Since Swissmem remains the associaton brand, there is a particular need to explain the use of different sender brands to employees. Animated advertising materials are available to promote the website and job offers to a broad public, which are displayed on high-reach portals.
